Rachel Margolis Chapman is an experienced Bay Area criminal defense attorney, known for her tenacious representation, compassion, and dedication to fighting for the rights of her clients. She has represented over 500 individuals charged with offenses ranging from homicide, sex crimes, domestic violence, driving under the influence, theft, and everything in between. 

Rachel grew up in the East Bay before going on to become a proud “Double Trojan”, receiving both her undergraduate degree (B.A., International Relations/Global Business; 2013) and law degree (2016) from the University of Southern California. She quickly realized upon passing the bar exam that she wanted to dedicate her career to criminal defense, and has done just that.  Prior to joining Mirador Law, Rachel was an associate attorney in the criminal department of Gagen McCoy, where she worked closely with the firm’s seasoned criminal defense attorneys to develop effective, aggressive defense strategies aimed at obtaining a fair and just outcome for every client. 

Rachel is an active member of the Contra Costa County Bar Association, and serves on the Criminal Section Board, the Women’s Section Board, and the Editorial Board. She is also a member of the Contra Costa County Criminal Conflicts Program, where she represents indigent adults and juveniles charged with felony offenses, as well as offers legal research and writing support to fellow Program attorneys through the Attorney Support Division. Rachel is often praised for her writing abilities, and has been published numerous times in Contra Costa Lawyer.
